Established in 2018 by Creative Director Gemma Tucker, Balance is an award-winning interior design studio set on the Wiltshire-Somerset border. Our spaces are grounded, quietly atmospheric and designed in harmony with their context and the people who live within them.
Alongside the bigger picture, we devote equal attention to the finer details. Through a process of exploration, testing and refinement, we design with restraint, allowing architecture, craftsmanship and everyday life in the space to be fully appreciated.
We believe that truly beautiful, liveable homes lie in balance, between form and function, fragility and strength, symmetry and asymmetry, old and new.
We believe the most successful homes are defined as much by what is left out as by what is included. Through restraint, we create spaces that feel calm, generous and effortless, where architecture, art, craftsmanship and everyday life each have the space to be enjoyed.
Light, flow and context are fundamental to the way we design. We take time to understand the architecture,
environmental setting and character of every home, allowing each to inform the design. Honest materials, layers of texture and patina, together with carefully crafted details, bring warmth, depth and soul, creating homes that feel enduring, deeply personal and entirely at ease in their surroundings.
We prioritise quality, provenance and originality, collaborating closely with artisans and master craftspeople to create furnishings and objects that will be treasured for years to come.
Our creative vision is shaped by the fragility and beauty of nature, the structure and nuance of architecture, and an enduring appreciation for craftsmanship. Together, they inspire interiors defined by honest materials, organic forms and a restrained palette that allows light, texture and atmosphere to take centre stage.
