Somerset Farmhouse

Set within the rolling Somerset countryside, this substantial farmhouse was formed from the joining of two former dwellings. While rich in rustic charm, the layout lacks cohesion and the sense of character the clients hope to achieve. Our brief is to reconfigure the principal interior spaces to create a warm and welcoming family home with a stronger sense of flow and connection. 

The design will draw on the surroundings, balancing a relaxed, rural sensibility with a quiet layer of refinement. A rich, enveloping palette will be introduced throughout the scheme. Natural materials and gentle pattern will reference the gardens and countryside beyond, reflecting the clients’ love of National Trust houses and landscapes while grounding the interiors firmly within their setting.
